Starting from the port of Naples (or Salerno) you will begin the this relaxing day driving the coast of Amalfi to your first stop, the beautiful and enchanting town of Ravello. Perched an a 350 ft high cliff overlooking the blue sea of the Amalfi Coast, it has conserved its historical monuments through the ages in a natural setting which has few equals in the world. One of the most important monuments is the Cathedral, founded in 1086, where one can admire the Ambo and the Pulpit decorated with Byzantine mosaics, the splendid bronze doors by Barisano da Trani and the museum situated in the crypt. Another most visited attraction here is Villa Rufolo, the jewel of Ravello as the locals call it, an inspirational spot for artist, poets and musicians since the 1800.
You have part of the morning to enjoy Ravello before taking off to the town AMALFI, hence the name Amalfi coast. It overlooks the sea with its characteristic set of white houses on the rocks, narrow streets among arches, ancient towers to guard the town makes it a very picturesque town, characterized by enchanting panoramic views and cliffs rising sheer from the sea: a real Eden with a gentle climate, delightful beaches, buildings clinging to the rocky slope. One of the most important monuments is the Duomo, built dated back to 6th century and dedicated to St Andrew the Apostle, whose remains are kept in the crypt.
Last town is most likely the most famous one, Positano. The legend says it had been founded by Poseidon, god of the seas, a declaration of his love for the nymph Pasitea. The town develops in a vertical way, following the steep incline of the mountains rising sheer from the sea. Homes are painted with gaudy colours, giving the impression of a precious stone with thousand facets that cause multicolour reflections and narrow streets. Reach the sea quickly, passing the buildings, homes and shop to reach the small beach, where you have the most gorgeous panoramic view of Positano.
Once you are ready to head back, the driver will meet you and drive you back to your ship
* There will be time of course for lunch in any of the towns you wish or we can recommend a local place to you as well.
